Flying Over Tehran

Camping at Gahar lake

Gahar lake offers the most beautiful landscape in Lorestan Province. It is at the heart of the mount Oshtoran Kouh and is surrounded by Zagros Mountains. The lake is 40 kms to the south of town of Dorud and lies 2,360 meters above the sea. If you are into fishing, this lake would be good a place of choice.

A Church in Tehran

I think this church is called Sourp Sarkis Mother Church. It is an Armenian Apostolic Church located in Karim khan Ave. in upper central Tehran. Looking at these pictures simply reminds me of numerous memories as a kid.

An Iranian woman checks her satellite dish on the roof of her Tehran apartment in 2005. Iranian MP Saeed Abutaleb has claimed that more than half of Iran’s 70 million population watch satellite television channels even though they are illegal in the Islamic republic!

Yazd

Christmas in Tehran

Pictures were taken in winter of 2005 in Tehran. Christianity has a long tradition in Iran. During Saffavid dynasty they became an important part of Iranian struggle against Ottoman Turks. Sadly, majority of them have left the country for the West. More pictures will be added later. enjoy!
