Sassanid Mummy

This is a natural mummy of a Persian man. He is one of the Salt Men. They are called so because they were found in a salt mine. He belongs to Sassanid Era. The Salt Man was discovered in the Chehrabad salt mines located on the southern part of the Hamzehlu village, on the west side of the city of Zanjan. The head and left foot are currently on display in a glass case at the National Museum of Iran in Tehran.

پيرمرد ،سخت مشغول کار بود در معدن نمک با خويشانش که سنگي بزرگ از بالاي کوه فروغلتيد و او را براي هميشه خاموش کرد. سال ها زير سنگ باقي بود اما نمک بدنش را از فرسودگي حفظ کرد. تا همين چند سال پيش که اخلاف کارگرش در معدن نمک چهرآباد زنجان او را پيدا کردند و سپردند به موزه

Sassanid Dish

Imperial Sassanid Dish kept in Hermitage Museum. They were the last native Persian dynasty ruling Iran before Islam from 3rd to 7th centuries. This dish displays a royal hunting scene. The king riding a camel is perhaps Shah BahramV.
